Dear Agape Family and Friends,
There are many reasons to look forward to a hopeful 2021. There has been tremendous hardships and serious challenges remain in our communities. The accomplishments of this past year have helped Agape Children’s Museum make positive progress in preparation for our 10th year of service. I am inspired by the commitment, creativity and compassion that has been evident as we have worked to serve our children and families in this challenging time.
This year, with many nonprofits having to close their doors, we worked hard to keep our programs available and safe. We launched Agape ART SUBMISSIONS FROM HOME PROGRAM, an online, art-based series of fun, educational and engaging activities for kids and families to do together at home as the museum’s in-person activities have been temporarily halted due to COVID-19. During the Summer Agape hosted HEARTY MARTY’S Virtual/Online Summer Camp with pre-assembled Starter Boxes each week with all the materials and instructions needed for a week of activities that were fun, educational, and hands-on. Through the platform of the internet we were able to present many popular events virtually such as our; Family Health Festival, Harvest Art Show, Halloween Quarantine-O-Ween Night, Museum Weekend of Giving Fundraiser and The Color of the Season Art Experience.
All of these accomplishments gives me hope for the future. I invite you to take a moment to consider those things that bring you hope during this unique holiday season. A vision for a better future has the power to lift our spirits and strengthen our communities. Together, we can celebrate the opportunities that this New Year brings.
I look forward to seeing our collective hopes for the New Year. May you have continue to stay healthy and safe during this holiday season. For the Children and their Families,
Vaughn Pitts, M.Ed
