ART CONTEST AT MARCH 24TH FESTIVAL OPEN TO ALL YOUTH
In conjunction with the “Art IS Education Festival” sponsored by 8th District Councilman Al Austin, Women In Action Reaching Out and Arts Council for Long Beach which is our annual, day-long showcase demonstrating the power of youth learning in and through the arts, Agape will be conducting a community and school-wide Art contest to answer the question, “Why do I Love Art?” Students can answer the question by submitting one of the following: Drawing, Painting, Poem, Essay or Video.
We are looking for you to artistically show us your interpretation of why you love art so much. Share your quotes and share your artwork! Open to all visitors ages 3 years old to 17 years old. We will only accept 2 dimensional artwork, not to exceed 9” x 12”.
Artwork must be on paper; must be a drawing or painting — no photography or digital artwork. Mediums accepted include pencil, markers, crayon, paint, pen. Must be dry. Artworks can be with chalk, pastel, glue, glitter or other materials with texture but must be dry before submission. No use of copyrighted slogans, characters or trademarks will be accepted. Please fill out the registration form and include with submission.
Prizes in the Categories of: Pre-School, Early Elementary, Elementary, Middle and High School
Turn-In Location: Turn in Artwork to Visitor Services table or festival Staff at the event no later than 11:30 am
All artwork becomes the property of AGAPE Children’s Museum and will be on display at the museum’s various events throughout the year. Additionally, it will be used for the 2018 Red Party Gala program and video. Entry into the contest constitutes entrant’s irrevocable permission and consent that AGAPE Children’s Museum may display, copy, reproduce, enhance, print, sublicense, publish, distribute and create derivative works for museum purposes
