LONG BEACH, CA (May 1, 2018) – Agape Children’s Museum proudly announce the 2018 recipients for the Heart For Kids Award, honoring an individual(s) and corporation or foundation, for:
This year’s recipient of the Heart For Kids Individual Award is Norman Pechejo, for his many years of dedication, commitment and service to Agape Children’s Museum, and the children of our community. Norman joined the Children’s Museum as it’s DJ and Events Sound Coordinator at the Agape’s first hosted Festival in 2012.
He served as the Official Events Sound Director for our Festivals and Fairs and he helps to ensure and create a successful experience for all children and families in attendance. Norman has for nearly 2 decades has worked as a staff assistant for the Long Beach Unified School District.
The 2014 Kids at Heart Corporate Award goes to Women In Action Reaching Out (WIARO) – the Museum’s Official Health & Nutrition Partner – in recognition for their continued commitment to the health and nutrition of the children of our community. WIARO supports the Museum’s Healthy Children Programs, attended by thousands of children and their families each year. This program is designed to create lifelong positive health habits for young children and their caregivers through hands-on activities as well as provide on-site workshops for those who work with young children.
Women In Action Reaching Out is dedicated to helping families communitywide live healthier lives by supplying healthy lunch experiences, meeting consumer health and wellness needs, and sustaining trusted relationships with childcare and senior providers. The Kids at Heart Awards presentation will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2018 6:30 pm at the Museum’s Red Party Reception at the Long Beach Nonprofit Conference Room benefiting the Museum’s art, literacy and health programs.
